Zhejiang International Commodity Exchange -- Detailed Transaction Data¶
The Zhejiang International Commodity Exchange (浙江国际大宗商品交易中心) operates three transaction mechanisms for petrochemical and energy commodities. Data was sourced via CCB Futures (建信期货).
1. Auction Market (拍卖行情)¶

Products traded¶
Three core product categories appear in the auction data:
- LNG (浙江LNG) -- Daily and weekly auctions, typically 44 tonnes per lot at 4,800--5,500 CNY/tonne (late 2022)
- Polypropylene (聚丙烯) -- 25.5 tonnes per lot, ~8,520 CNY/tonne (Dec 2021), one earlier lot at 227,460 CNY total
- Light cycle oil (轻循环油) -- 3,000 tonnes per lot, ~5,200--6,100 CNY/tonne (Dec 2021--Mar 2022), multiple daily sessions

Data Quality Notes¶

Auction data (拍卖): Compact dataset (57 rows), all transactions completed. Price/volume fields embed units as text strings (e.g., "5500.00元/吨", "44吨") -- requires parsing to extract numeric values.

Bidding data (招标): Small dataset (62 rows). Same text-embedded units. No status column -- all rows are implicitly completed transactions.

Listing data (挂牌): Large dataset (13,592 rows), excellent 9+ year coverage. Same text-embedded units. Transaction amounts are numeric with " 元" suffix. Some early records (2016) show very low prices (10 CNY/t methanol) which may represent partial lots or test records.

Cross-file consistency: Product names vary slightly across files (e.g., "液化气" vs "液化石油气", multiple asphalt grades). A unified product taxonomy would be needed for cross-file analysis.

Relevance to crude oil: While most products are downstream refined/petrochemical products, the data provides valuable spot price signals for China's physical commodity markets. Only 29 records are for crude oil (原油) directly, all in the listing market. The bulk of the data covers refined fuels and petrochemicals, making it most useful for downstream margin and demand analysis.
